Following on from EASA's recent bilateral agreement with the FAA that they recognise each others equipment approvals, and CAA adopting a similar policy, LAA can now also take advantage of this. Where the FAA has issued a TSO (Technical Standard Order), then LAA will accept this as long as it also meets applicable European requirements (e.g. a TSO'd radio must be 8.33 kHz compliant).
This opens up a whole new range of equipment for LAA members to fit to their aircraft.
The updated TL 3.03 also includes advice on when equipment approved to CAA's LA3 category can be used.
