Royal Aeronautical Society, LAA and Air Race E launch competition to design Electric Racer
Rally 2015



The Royal Aeronautical Society has combined forces with the LAA and Air Race E, to launch a competition to design an electric racing aircraft. 

 

The competition is open to all, from professional teams to individuals and students, and it is designed promote innovative design and promote electric power in future light aircraft.  The rules will be published in the coming month. 

 

To register interest, e-mail conference@aerosociety.com with your address, team name and details of your team members. Please put “Design Competition 2019” in the address box.

 

You’ll have almost a year to fine-tune a design. Final entries must be submitted by September 2019 and the winners will be selected by a judging team including LAA Chief Engineer Francis Donaldson. Computer simulation will form part of the judging process, both as a means of assessing performance, as well as introducing the possibility of a live virtual fly-off!
