Brian Davies was elected Chairman of the LAA in November 2014.
He started his working life at the age of 16 as an engineering apprentice with British European Airways. 25 years later he was appointed Chief Engineer of aircraft maintenance with British Airways. He later became Engineering Director of British Caledonian Airways and then Operations Director of Air Europe.¬†
In 1992 he was appointed Chief Executive of Kenya Airways and transformed this loss making government owned national carrier into a privatised and highly profitable airline.¬† He is a graduate of City University, London and attended Harvard Business School. He has served as a Council member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and as an external examiner at City University.¬†
Since retirement he has built and flown a Europa light aircraft and is now building a second aircraft.
He is married to Donna and has two grown up children.¬† His other passion is designing and building racing cars.
