Steve Hutt was elected a Director on the LAA Board in October 2015.
His professional background is 30+ years in Information Technology. From 1978 to 1999 he worked for British Airways, starting in Operations Engineering then moving to IT. His first IT role at BA in 1980 was as part of the team implementing a new Flight Planning system called SWORD. Later he worked on database management, IT infrastructure and strategic projects. After leaving BA, Steve worked in IT Sales and Business/IT Consulting assisting clients in modernising their IT and business processes.
Steve is currently Programme Coordinator of the Future Airspace Strategy VFR Implementation Group working on UK airspace matters to establish a sustainable future for VFR operations.
Steve has also completed a one year fulltime Aeronautical Engineering course. He lives in West Sussex, is a shareholder in a group-owned 1967 Piper PA28-180, is slowly building a Van’s RV-7 and enjoys photography and flying holidays to continental Europe.
