Electrical cable joiner Anthony was hooked on aviation from an early age. His Father used to potter around in a small Jodel and then Piper Vagabond aeroplane. Anthony first love was vintage bikes, so he learnt how to take apart and repair machinery as was needed for maintenance.
He first tried gliding, and then a powered aeroplane lesson was taken at Thruxton in a Tomahawk. Money was not in good enough supply at the time to continue, so he did other things for a while, until he decided that a visit to Popham in 1998 where there was, and still is a microlight school, got him back into the air.
He first bought a Thruster TST taildragger, so flying this type of aircraft with a tailwheel, helped him learn the way to control such an aircraft on the ground as much as in the air.
He then saw that a Piper Cub was for sale and bought G-BSBT in 2009. He fly’s on a UK NPPL licence, where Anthony enjoys flying into small farmer airstrips, and local fly-ins.
